With extensive expertise in both construction and engineering, Karun Sreerama founded and leads SRRE Developers and Builders in Houston. Dedicated to supporting the city’s recovery post-Hurricane Harvey, Karun Sreerama has poured much of his energy into expanding the supply of affordable housing.Beginning in the fall of 2018, residents whose homes sustained damage in Hurricane Harvey will be able to apply to the City of Houston for reimbursement for some of their home repair expenses.The reimbursements sought through the Homeowner Reimbursement Program must be “reasonable”; in other words, they must be typical costs associated with modest repairs. Damage to luxury items, such as marble countertops, Jacuzzis, pools, or high-end appliances, is not eligible for reimbursement. In addition, homeowners cannot claim labor costs for work they did themselves. The City of Houston will inspect properties of people submitting claims to verify the work completed.
